Expert Pathology Services: Deep Insights into Disease Mechanisms and Genetic Modifications in Mouse Models

The Mouse Biology Program (MBP) offers a comprehensive suite of post-mortem services to support researchers in characterizing pathological processes in mutant and diseased mouse models. Equipped with state-of-the-art laboratories and advanced tools, we deliver high-quality tissue processing and analysis, providing precise, reliable data for your research.

Our services include:

  • Standard Pathology: Complete necropsy with organ evaluation, weight measurement, and tissue collection. Various fixation, perfusion, and tissue preservation methods are available to meet your study requirements.
  • Blood Collection: Repeated and terminal blood collection, with options for serum, plasma, or whole blood, suitable for hematology and clinical chemistry analysis.
  • Histopathology: Comprehensive histological services, including formalin-fixed paraffin-embedded (FFPE) and OCT-embedded frozen tissues. Certified histotechnologists handle fixation, embedding, slide production, and staining, with consultations from a board-certified veterinary pathologist specializing in mutant mouse pathology.
  • Gene Expression Analysis: Tools for characterization of gene and protein expression, such as QPCR, B-galactosidase staining, and immunohistochemistry.
  • Digital Imaging: Whole-slide scanning and digital image acquisition using the Aperio L2 platform, providing detailed visualization of histological samples.

Our extensive services enable in-depth pathological assessment and gene expression profiling, revealing critical insights into mouse models’ disease mechanisms and phenotypic abnormalities.
