Now Available CRISPR/Cas9 for RATS!
The UC Davis Mouse Biology Program (MBP) is proud to make available genome editing in rats using CRISPR/Cas9 as a service to campus researchers. In addition to CRISPR mice, the MBP can now design, establish, and expand genome-edited rat models for your research.
Rats studies can be advantageous for sequential blood and tissue sampling, especially in longitudinal drug studies. Rats are also valuable for research in neurological, behavior, and pharmacology studies, and more. The ability to efficiently modify the rat genome greatly expands these and other research opportunities using rats.
MBP is pleased to offer the campus community CRISPR/Cas9 rat and mouse models for your research program. CRISPR/Cas9-based gene editing has emerged as a versatile approach for inducing precise genetic alterations. The MBP has the experience to deliver a variety of mutations, including indels, exdels, conditionals, and more, on diverse strain genetic backgrounds in mice and rats.
